Jackson's Birthday Photo Shoot!

We just took Jackson for his one year old pictures!! I can't believe what a big boy he is already! We had a great time. I will post a slideshow of some of my favorites, but not without a few funny "honorable mentions" first!!

This one made us laugh so hard! We figure we'll just take this picture out when Jackson asks where babies come from!! :)


This was just about the best we could do for the chair shots...he thought it was so funny to slide out of it!

New York!

We just got back from our trip to New York for Megan and Nick's wedding! We had such an amazing time! The wedding was beautiful and we spent time with some of the greatest people ever!!! To everyone we hung out with...we already miss ya'll. We'll be back and you ALL better be free to party!!
I learned a few new words from the crazy New Yorker's!! First was "bra-cket." Megan's Mom uses it often and so does her sister, Erin! :) It's where I learned to put things when I have no pockets! I also learned about "scrumping"...it's screwing and humping all in the same word. It made me laugh!!
Well...Megan was a gorgeous bride and Nick is one of the greatest people I've ever met! They make the perfect couple! We love you guys...congratulations you two!!!

Just had to share...

So I went through my camera and pulled a few pictures that I had forgotten about. I took them a few weeks ago (Jackson was 48 weeks old then). We always keep the kitchen "Jackson proofed" so he doesn't get to go in there. He loves to play with the dog's bowls. Well...I left the room for no more than 30 seconds, and came back to find him dunking the top of his head in the water bowl! I laughed so hard and luckily the camera was right there. Thought I would share!! The other pictures were just dang cute and worthy of a look! This is what I do with my time since we are off ALL WEEK!! I'm so ready to get back into the swing of things!

First Blog!

This is our first blog on here! I will update more regularly as I get used to this whole thing! :) Jackson is such a big boy now. He has 8 teeth and 2 molers already through with more waiting to push up. He has been on table food for about 2 months which has been nice. And yes...he is walking...or should I say running!! He's been walking since about 9 1/2 months. He recently went to his first rock show to see his Daddy play...but our transmission blew on the way so we missed it. :( We stayed for awhile anyway.

Hurricane Ike just blew through Houston. I wasn't overly worried about it until I left school on

Thursday and saw boarded up buildings and lines of cars waiting for gas and food. We managed to come out just fine. We lost our back fences and will probably have to pull down one of the pine trees out front. It got partially uprooted, but didn't fall over. Our power came back on Saturday and we feel more than lucky about that. We are just ready to get back into the swing of things.

On an exciting note...Jackson turns 1 on October 4th!!! I am so excited to have his first birthday party!!! I will post about it asap! Well...that's about all for now. I'll keep you all updated as things happen for us!
