Congrats to the Buehler Family!

My best friend, Erin, has been my best friend since we were little! We stuck it out through thick and thin and I wouldn't be the same without her! Her husband and son, Landon, are amazing and I only wish I could spend more time with all of them. This morning she gave birth to a healthy baby boy...Haydon Wesley Buehler! (Hope I spelled that right...never got the final word on the spelling!) He was 20 inches long and 6lbs 7oz! I'll post a picture as soon as I get one!! Congrats to the greatest friends ever!

You know, Erin, if I have a girl someday...we could be inlaws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Looking Good!

So it's been awhile since Jackson has been interested in playing...and today has been a great day! He ate TONS of dinner and then smiled, sang, and played until bedtime! I was talking to my mom and she reminded me of the "contest" that she and her sisters used to have when all of us kiddos were young...you know...the "who can buy the loudest toy" contest. When did I get inducted into that one!!! Well...Aunt Patty...you win this year!!! And dang it, he loves it! :) Since he was finally interested in his toys tonight, I thought I would get a few pictures up!

Thanks for all the fun guys!

Playing with his wooden train from Aunt Montrue and Bill! He likes to take the pieces apart and put them back together.

The LOUDEST car ever...from Aunt Patty, Uncle Gary, Meredith, Bryan, and Kyle! He loves it! It doesn't have a quiet setting either...thanks guys!! :)

Sporting his new "Gooseberry's Kid" hat from Aunt Ann, Uncle Richard, Rich, and Danny! Those of you that know me know about my love for Newport and especially Gooseberry Beach! Family always finds a way to touch your heart! Thanks for the Goosey's stuff!!

His next loud toy...the Quack and Flap Duck from Aunt Ann and the fam! He gets a kick out of this...especially the quack, quack, quack, quack...AGGGGGGHHHHH!!! :)

Making Progress...

Well, Jackson is getting better...slowly but surely. We are finally okay with doing the treatments. He can pretty much work the machine already. He knows where the medicine goes, where the smoke comes out, where the mask goes, and no questions about where the OFF button is on the machine!! He helps me with everything now...we play through the treatment with the infamous spatula and he turns the machine off for me and says, "All done!" We kept him in over the weekend and have done a lot of resting to get ready for the week. That nebulizer really does make a big difference. Just thought I would update on his progress! Thanks to everyone for checking in with us (and Heather for all the great information!)!

Can I turn it off yet??

Having a little fun during our treatment!

Sick again...

Just when you think things are getting better...nope! Jackson was diagnosed with pneumonia the day before Thanksgiving. We noticed he wasn't quite back to normal, so we took him back to the doctor after a couple of weeks and got more antibiotics. Still noticed that his cough was pretty bad after that so I took him back about 6 days ago and we got another chest x-ray. Sure enough...he still has left lower lobe pneumonia. We got him on a new antibiotic and I thought for sure we were in the clear. We had Jackie and Paul's wedding to go to during New Year's so we left Jackson with Nana and Papa. Mom said he had a rough night on Wednesday so I was a bit worried. We got back on Thursday and on the way home I noticed his coughing fits were really bad. Later that night I started noticing the labored, rapid breathing and got really worried. He was up about every 2-3 hours crying. We made it through until the morning and got him to the doctor in the morning. Sure enough his oxygen level was low and they immediately put him on breathing treatments. So...now we are on Albuterol with the Nebulizer, steroids, and antibiotics!! My poor little monster. Hopefully this is the end of all this drama! He is not a big fan of his Nebulizer so when I went to buy ours, I got the kid friendly one to try and lighten the experience. The pictures below are him getting aquainted with his Nebby Buddy! This morning was his 4th treatment and he did MUCH better!

On a positive note...this is the first morning that Jackson has been interested in food!! He ate half a banana and a whole bowl of oatmeal! The sad part for me is that he was eating from a spoon for the first time. Oatmeal was one of the only things left that he would let me feed him and now he doesn't need me!!! :) I'm so proud of my little man!
